Maps, Pictures, Driving Instructions, and Medical Visit Preparations

Our goal is to provide the highest quality service in the most private and sensitive manner possible while being less expensive than others. Aid For Women (AFW) is the reproductive health subdivision of our medical group called Central Family Medical,LLC (CFM). AFW services include:
- Free walk-in pregnancy testing: Your period must be late, bring a first morning urine specimen in a small, closed, clean container.
- Low cost sonography (ultrasound).
- Surgical abortions up to 15 weeks LMP (29mm BPD).
- Medical abortions up to 7 weeks LMP by mifepristone (Mifeprex, RU-486)/misoprotol. (The older, less effective, methotrexate/misoprostol is no longer offered here.)
- Contraception: Birth control pills, Evra PatchTM, NuvaRingTM,ParagardTM IUD, 12-week and Depo-ProveraTM injection.
- Private adoption catalog for patients who decide to continue their pregnancy and adopt out.
- Routine pap smears and contraception, and treatment of vaginal infections.

Why Choose Aid For Women For Pregnancy Termination Services?

1. EXPERIENCED DOCTOR Our physician has 35 years of experience in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
2. COMFORT. Conscious Sedation is available for patients who desire to have little or no experience of the procedure. This greatly improves the comfort over local anesthesia particularly in pregnancies over 7 weeks. If a woman chooses local anesthesia but finds the procedure to be uncomfortable, she can change her mind and receive twilight sleep if her support person is in the building. Also, with no group counseling or recovery you may have a loved one with you except during the procedure (about 15 minutes).
3. REASONABLE FEES. Our fees are less than most abortion providers, and Conscious Sedation is offered at no additional cost.
4. GOOD QUALITY. We are a National Abortion Federation member and follow their standards. We are inspected regularly. We use routine sonography to eliminate those who are not pregnant, and those who are too far along for us. We also diagnose spontaneous abortions (miscarries), and avoid certain problems that might complicate an abortion. Antibiotics are prescribed whether you need them or not.
5. SPANISH BI-LINGUAL if needed.
6. 24-HOUR PHYSICIAN ON-CALL.  Our physicians are available to meet you after hours if necessary for any post-operative situations at no charge. Otherwise, if you went to the emergency room it could cost you more than the original abortion procedure.
7. EASY DRIVING LOCATION. Only blocks from I-70, I-670, and easy access from I-35 & I-29.

Medical Visit Preparations

1.  Bring our Aid For Women 24-hour form.
2.  NO GUM, MINTS, FOOD or DRINK! Nothing by Mouth for 6 hours prior to your appointment EXCEPT WATER or SMOKING, or else the anesthesia will make you throw up, suffocate and die. We don't want that and neither do you. You may however leave snacks and smokes for your Support Person in the car so they won't want to leave to clinic property to get something to eat.
3.  Government photo identification is required, preferably State Driver's Licenses and ID's, Passports, Embassy ID's, and Alien registration.
4.  Have a full bladder for an easier abdominal sonography scan or else we will have to do a transvaginal scan if your bladder is not full.
5.  No aspirin for one week prior to your abortion appointment because it will make you bleed more. Ibuprofen (Advil) and acetominophen (Tylenol) are okay.
6.  No alcohol or illegal drugs in your bloodstream at appointment time. We don't want our narcotics over-loading your recreational drugs and killing you. Got it? If you take prescription medications, contact us to see which medications you should still take that morning.
7.  Fees will be collected first. Any adjustments to the fees, such as more weeks or Rh-negative blood, will be collected before the abortion.
Bring your fees in cash, money order, credit card (Visa, M/C, Discover, AmEx), or debit card, NO CHECKS. The owner of credit card must be here with proper identification. Credit or debit cards will cost you more.
8.  Bring your first morning urine in a small clean container, like a spice bottle, aspirin bottle, or a small yogurt container.
9.  Wear a 2-piece loose-fitting outfit complete with socks, regular underwear and short sleeves. Do not wear pantyhose. Those who are 12-weeks or more should bring a warm jacket because a medicine we will give you makes you feel cold.
10.  Shower that morning and wear fresh underwear, pleeeease.
11.  Leave children with childcare, not here with your Support Person, or else be re-Scheduled.
12.  Bring reading glasses if needed.
13.  Conscious Sedation : Support Person MUST STAY. If they leave, you are re-scheduled. If you are 12-weeks or more, you must take Conscious Sedation and, therefore, have a Support Person here the entire time.
14.  Due to limited seating, please bring only one Support Person. If taking Conscious Seation, your Support person must be able to drive you home.
15.  A follow-up visit ($, pelvic exam, & urine pregnancy test) will be required with us or your physician within 30 days after the procedure.
16.  Bring a blood bank donor card, if available, so we don't have to poke your finger for Rh-blood typing.
17.  Please notify us of any pre-existing medical conditions, drug allergies (penicillin, codeine, sulfa, seafood,..., et cetera)
18.  If you are under 18 years of age, you will need parental notification which means getting their notarized signature on the Parental Notification form. We have notaries here. Those not wanting to inform their parents can get a "Judicial Waiver". It's a little more paperwork, but it is confidential and is successful. Either way, a 21-year old (not necessarily the parent) with photo ID needs to accompany the minor for counseling - it's the law. If the parent comes, the parent must bring their photo ID and your birth certificate that shows who the patient's parents are.
19.  Plan to be here approximately 8 hours if you are a One-Day Patient, 2 hours if scheduled as a Two-Day Patient. Patients who are 12 weeks or more will generally be here about 5 hours regardless of scheduling as One-Day or Two-Day appointment, and must start no later than 6:30am!
20.  If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, you will be re-scheduled.
21.  Leave your cellphones in the car, or powered OFF. We have a public phone inside you may use.

Our sign says Central Family Medicine and the building address is 720; the building is a creme-colored stucco one-story building with a white colonial trim and a tree out front. DO NOT GO TO the Crisis Pregnancy Center or the Pregnancy Resource Center on the left-hand (south) side of the street after the Stop & Go (BP) gas station. They are anti-abortion proLifer's trying to deceive you into accidently visiting them instead of us, and trying to scare you out of an abortion. Also, to get into our main parking lot requires that you go the wrong way on a One-Way for about ten feet. Please, watch the traffic as you come in.
